Ex-ALP member preselected for Dunkley
The Victorian Liberal Party’s Administration Committee has endorsed ex-ALP member Sharn Coombes for the marginal seat of Dunkley.
Dunkley had previously been held by Chris Crewther, but had been lost at the last federal election. Ms Coombes was chosen over former State MP Donna Bauer who is now a flight attendant. Ms Bauer was not chosen as she has too many close friendships with current and former MPs aligned with Brad Battin. Mr Battin is a strong critic of ailing leader Michael O’Brien.
Ms Coombes’ preselection is the direct result of Ian Quick and Frank Greenstein’s reaching out to the ALP and deliberate recruiting of left wing members and their branch stacking in the Liberal Party around the state.
